The M3 chip is a processor independently developed by Apple, using advanced 3nm process technology, resulting in a significant improvement in performance and efficiency. According to reports, the M3 Mac Apple is testing has the following models:

M3 13 inch MacBook Air (codenamed Mac 15jol 1 and J513 / J613)

M3 15-inch MacBook Air (codenamed Mac 15jol 2 and J515 / J615)

M3 13 inch MacBook Pro (codenamed Mac 15pencil 3 and J504)

M3 iMac (codenamed Mac 15jin4, Mac 15re5, J433 and J434)

M3 Pro and M3 Max 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro (codenamed Mac 15, 7, Mac 15, 8, J514 and J516)

Suspected M3 Mac mini (code name Mac 15pr 12)

CTOnews.com noted that the M3 Mac mini is the latest product to be exposed. It is reported that the M3-driven Mac mini under test is equipped with 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU, and the memory of 24GB CPU is composed of 4 high-performance cores and 4 high-performance cores. This configuration is the same as the current M2 Mac mini, except that it is replaced with a new M3 chip.

The report points out that although the number of basic M3 cores is the same as that of basic M2 cores, the M3 Pro chip is higher than the M2 Pro chip. It is reported that the basic M3 Pro chip has 12-core CPU and 18-core GPU, while M2 Pro chip has 10-core CPU and 16-core GPU.

According to Bloomberg, the first batch of Mac computers with M3 chips will be released in October. The initial lineup will include a 13-inch MacBook Pro, a 24-inch iMac and a 13-inch MacBook Air. It is unclear whether the basic version of M3 Mac mini will be launched at the same time.
