Less than a year after its establishment, Embracer closed down Campfire Cabal Game Studio.
CTOnews.com August 8 news, Swedish holding group Embracer Group in the recent large-scale restructuring process, due to the inability to reach 2 billion US dollars (CTOnews.com remarks: currently about 14.38 billion yuan) financing transactions, resulting in the company closed Campfire Cabal, including a number of game studios.
CTOnews.com Note: Campfire Cabal was founded in September 2022 and is part of THQ Nordic (also part of the Embracer Group), consisting mainly of industry veterans who developed Expeditions: Rome, Hunt: Showdown and Hitman.
Campfire Cabal has not released anything since its inception, and sources say the studio is working on a storyline PC role-playing game.
Obviously, the game project will not survive until release, and officials have decided to disband Campfire Cabal Studios.
Embracer Group now has 120 in-house studios, 850 game IPs and 230 in-development game projects, and has quietly grown into a game giant.
The company claims to be "the parent company of many businesses led by entrepreneurs in PC, console, mobile games, board games and other related media fields."
