CTOnews.com August 8, according to Nikkei Asia, chip designer Arm launched an initial public offering on NASDAQ, and Apple, Samsung Electronics, Nvidia, Intel and other companies plan to invest in Arm immediately after it goes public.

Reported that Arm plans to go public as early as September, with a target valuation of at least $60 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 431.4 billion yuan), the company is seeking to raise as much as $10 billion.

Arm welcomes large chipmakers to become medium-and long-term shareholders and sells them a few percentage points each, and these big companies can also influence Arm management by owning shares in Arm.

In fact, Softbank Corp. of Japan has been preparing IPO since Nvidia's planned acquisition of Arm came under regulatory scrutiny.

It follows reports that Arm is in talks with several companies, including Intel and Nvidia, to act as cornerstone investors in share offerings. SoftBank Vision, which holds a 25 per cent stake in Arm, plans to sell 10 to 15 per cent of its shares on the open market, the report said.
