Godson adds more functions to the Linux 6.6 kernel to help the development of LoongArch architecture.
CTOnews.com, August 8, according to foreign media Phoronix, Godson is developing a MIPS / x86 / Arm binary translation function (Loongson Binary Translationm, LBT) for the LoongArch architecture to translate binaries on other processors to run on Godson, which is conducive to improving the compatibility of Loongson's hardware and software.
In addition to the ▲ source Phoronix, LoongArch plans to enable LSX and LASX in the upcoming Linux 6.6 kernel.
Currently, Godson's 3A5000 is the only CPU that supports LSX / LASX. Currently, Linux 6.5 initially supports LSX and LASX SIMD, while the future Linux 6.6 will include XOR routines optimized for SIMD, SIMD recovery, SIMD syndrome calculation and other related functions to further improve Godson's performance and compatibility.
