In response, Mishaal Rahman, a reliable Android whistleblower, posted an X post saying that the official technical team's statement was wrong. He asked an Asustek PR contact and got the following statement: "the response from the service team misunderstood the situation. The unlock tool is not currently available, but we allow it to be unlocked. Please stay tuned."

Mishaal Rahman said that users could not unlock the Bootloader of Asustek phones as early as May, when it was said that the unlocking tool service would go into "maintenance".
