CTOnews.com, August 9 (Xinhua)-- Intel official account Zhi IN said today that Intel and Lenovo jointly set up an "Advanced system Innovation Lab" in Shanghai in July to create a new notebook computer design.

According to reports, both sides are very optimistic about the application and experience of AI in PC. The two sides are accelerating the development and innovation of the AI experience based on the Meteor Lake processor to be released this year. About 30 per cent of these ideas are being tested in conjunction with the laboratory's Meteor Lake system for proof-of-concept testing, and the remaining 70 per cent of innovative ideas will be used on future PC platforms.

In addition, cooperation with Lunar Lake processors designed for Intel's next-generation separate module architecture (multi-chip) has also been put on the agenda.

Intel revealed on its earnings call in January that the Lunar Lake processor would still be put into production in 2024 as planned.

"We have begun to simulate the Lunar Lake processor platform in the laboratory," said Mo Zhijian, director of platform design and development for Lenovo's Smart device Business Group. "this project is very special and involves a detailed collaborative process between our two teams."

According to CTOnews.com 's previous report, the source Bionic_Squash revealed that the iGPU of the Lunar Lake processor is based on the Battlemage "Xe2" architecture and can achieve up to 64 EU, equivalent to 8 Xe cores, significantly lower than Meteor Lake's 128EU.
