CTOnews.com, August 15 (Xinhua)-- 3DMark, a well-known benchmark tool, has announced the launch of a new testing service, Solar Bay, to test the ray-tracing performance of cross-platform devices, meaning that computers and mobile phones can run points together.

According to reports, Solar Bay is used to test the performance of raytraced graphics on Windows PC and high-end Android devices. The benchmark measures game-related graphics performance by rendering demanding RayTracing scenes in real time.

Solar Bay can now get the Android version at Google Play Store and the Windows version on Steam, Epic Games or directly from UL Solutions (CTOnews.com Note: Android version is free).

This benchmark is divided into three phases, each of which linearly increases the ray tracing workload by 100%. UL Benchmarks officials said the test was designed to demonstrate "the capabilities of the device, such as performance in a short period of time". UL claims that this is to imitate mobile games, because mobile games are "a series of short-lived activities" that test the device's ability to provide real-time performance in a short period of time.

According to the test of foreign media VideoCardz, Nvidia RTX 4090 high-end graphics card and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra high-end mobile phone test, the former run score is 24.5 times that of the latter.
