CTOnews.com August 16 news, cooling startup Frore Systems recently partnered with OWC to launch the first 64TB U.2 SSD storage device equipped with AirJet Mini cooling technology-Mercury Pro.

CTOnews.com previously reported that Frore Systems demonstrated a new AirJet active cooling chip solution in January this year, with a thickness of 2.8mm and a much higher heat dissipation capacity per millimeter than traditional heat dissipation methods:

Designed for fanless and thin laptops, AirJet Mini can consume 5.25W at 1W.

The AirJet Pro chip is designed for larger laptops with more processing power and even handheld gaming systems, and can consume 10.5W at 1.75W.

Mercury Pro is the first portable hard drive case with AirJet cooling technology, which houses eight M.2 SSDs under the 3.5-inch U.2 hard drive case, four of which are located at the top and the other four are installed at the bottom of the case.

Each SSD comes with AirJet Mini, which dissipates heat through copper heat exchangers and thermal pads.

OWC says the removable hard drive case can support up to eight 8TB SSDs, up to 64TB capacity, and sustained rapid reads and writes of 2200 MB/s and 2600 MB/s.

Thanks to AirJet's cooling capabilities, Mercury Pro is able to handle 40W of power consumption, so it can deliver superior performance and capacity performance under traditional SATA hard drive cases.
