Sources say that former Google CEO Schmidt is preparing a new AI non-profit organization.

IT House, August 17, according to foreign technology media semafor reports, former Google CEO Eric Schmidt (Eric Schmidt) is currently planning to build a new AI company, with the help of AI technology to meet scientific challenges.

It is reported that the new company is positioned as a non-profit organization, and Schmidt has hired two prestigious scientists in the industry to lead it. The names of two scientists attached to IT House are as follows:

Samuel Rodley (Samuel Rodriques): founder of the Applied Biotechnology Laboratory at the Francis Crick Institute (Francis Crick Institute).

Andrew White (Andrew White): professor at the University of Rochester and a pioneer in the application of artificial intelligence in chemistry.

According to people familiar with the matter, the organization plans to take OpenAI as its model, attract top talent in science and artificial intelligence, integrate technology in both fields, and hope to make breakthroughs in drug research and development, materials science and so on.

People familiar with the matter said that the non-profit organization's operating capital comes from Schmidt's personal assets, but given the vision of the project, it is expected to absorb more external funds in the future.
