Sources say Samsung will launch three high-resolution ISOCELL sensors, the highest 440MP, in the second half of 2024.
Thank CTOnews.com netizens soft media Xinyou 1933769 for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com August 17 news, as we all know, the main mobile image sensors that we can contact are Howie's OV series, Samsung ISOCELL series, Sony IMX series, of which Samsung is mainly famous for its high pixels, such as S5KHP1, HP2 and so on.
According to the latest news from @ Revegnus, Samsung's new generation of high-resolution ISOCELL sensors will be in mass production in the second half of 2024, including at least three models:
HP7:2 megapixel, unit pixel area 0.6 μ m
GN6:5 multi-megapixel, unit pixel area 1.6 μ m
HU1:4.4 mega-pixel
It is worth mentioning that none of the existing flagship chips can meet the needs of 440MP sensors (CTOnews.com Note: Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 highest 200MP per camera), so there is a good chance that these new sensors will need to be used with next-generation SoC, or at least with a strong enough ISP imaging chip, and there will be no terminal models until the corresponding solution is available.
