CTOnews.com August 18, Microsoft announced the official closure of the Xbox 360online Mall on July 29, 2024. At the same time, it also announced that it would stop production of the Azure Kinect developer kit and remove the product from the shelves in October this year. If the inventory is cleared ahead of time, it will be removed early.

The Azure Kinect DK is a developer kit and PC peripherals with a 1 megapixel advanced depth camera, a 360 "microphone array, a 1200 megapixel full HD camera and direction sensors for advanced computer vision and voice model development. It is less than 13 centimeters long and only 4 centimeters thick.

After stopping production of the Azure Kinect developer kit, Microsoft has shifted its focus to building a partner ecosystem and licensing image sensor technology to companies such as Analog Devices, Microsoft said in a press release today.

Microsoft says users of the Azure Kinect developer suite can use third-party products such as Orbbec's Femto Bolt.

As for existing Azure Kinect developer Suite users, they can continue to use it.
