Dong Mingzhu responded for the first time that Gree was listed in the Fortune 500: it's not sad at all, it's better than "thunder".

Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen Real_ for the clue delivery! On August 20, CTOnews.com, Dong Mingzhu, chairman and president of Gree Electric Appliances, publicly responded for the first time that Gree Electric Appliances was dropped from the 2023 Fortune 500s list this year in the evening of August 19 in the talk show "Super interview".

What am I so sad about? I'm not sad at all. I am very happy to see the enterprise (Gree Electric Appliances) so healthy. What is there to be sad about? It's better than the top 500. What's the point of having that top 500? Because it only looks at sales revenue, I know whether the enterprise is good or not, and I know whether I am sick or not. No matter how beautifully dressed, it's just an appearance.

…… What are the benefits of the top 500? I have asked, the first is that the government will think highly of you when receiving; the second is to go to the bank for a good loan. But what does the real development of the enterprise depend on? Rely on your internal strength, innovative ability, talent precipitation and management level.

CTOnews.com previously quoted interface news reports, a number of independent sources said Gree Electric Appliance has disbanded the core mobile phone team. In response to this rumor, Gree Dong Mingzhu responded in an exclusive interview with Sina Financial M+lady Tang Tianqi.

Dong Mingzhu said in an interview: "it is impossible to say on the Internet that our mobile phones are not doing it. We must stick to it. Why do you insist on doing it? in the future, it will be the intelligent linkage of a family. Wherever you go, you and the appliances at home will be one."

Gree Electric launched the first generation of Gree phones in 2015, the second generation of Gree phones in 2018, and the third generation of Gree phones in 2019. Unfortunately, Gree's sales of three generations of mobile phones are not good.
