Sources say that Zuckerberg's social platform Threads will launch a web version this week.
CTOnews.com August 21, according to the Wall Street Journal reported that Zuckerberg's Meta company (formerly Facebook) plans to launch a web version of its Threads social platform earlier this week.
Threads quickly grew to more than 100 million users after it launched July 5, but most of them quickly lost, with daily active users down 70% two weeks later and 85% by mid-August. Threads lack functionality is one of the reasons for user churn, the biggest flaw being the lack of a web version available. The Wall Street Journal reported that the web version is one of the most anticipated features of Threads. Currently, Threads 'web interface only lets users view certain posts through their browser.
CTOnews.com notes that Instagram head Adam Mosseri said on his Instagram profile on Friday that a web version of Threads is coming soon and has been tested internally at Meta.
People familiar with Meta's plans said that while a web version is currently planned for this week, the plans are uncertain and could change.
Sam Saliba, a Silicon Valley tech executive and former head of global brand marketing at Instagram, said,"Threads 'web version will be a major advantage for Meta in its competition with X, giving the company broader reach, more features and better data collection capabilities." "
