CTOnews.com August 22 news, the picture editing tool Pixelmator ushered in the update of version 3.1 today, the biggest highlight of which is the integration of the "Smart Deband" function in Pixelmator Pro, which can smooth the color transition and further enhance images in JPEG and other formats.

In today's updated blog post, developers say that after compressing images in formats such as JPEG, some of the image details will be lost, resulting in a ribbon problem with a clear distinction in color transition.

The "Smart Deband" function uses machine learning to transition colors more smoothly and increases the color depth of photos to 16 bits per channel, providing an image color depth equivalent to RAW format.

Before modification

It is worth noting that Photomator also provides other machine learning-based features, such as automatic enhancement and super resolution, which can also improve the rendering of low-resolution images.
