Microsoft Olive is a tool developed by the Python language that greatly optimizes the performance of AMD GPU running large language models.

According to the press release, Radeon RX 7900 XTX GPU significantly improved the performance of text-based image generation after enabling the Microsoft Olive tool, using the Stable Diffusion model as an example.

Microsoft Olive can transform, optimize, quantify, and automatically tune models to maximize performance output. AMD said in official tests that AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX provides 1.87 iterations per second when running on the default PyTorch path, but when the Microsoft Olive tool optimization model is turned on, the GPU can iterate 18.59 times per second.
