Thanks to CTOnews.com netizens Alejandro86 and soft media users 1520111 for their clue delivery! CTOnews.com, Aug. 27-Google is testing a new YouTube feature that allows users to search for songs by humming or recording.

According to the source Pexels Google support page, if you are selected to participate in this YouTube experiment, you can hum or record a song clip of three seconds or more, and YouTube will try to identify it. Once YouTube recognizes the song, it will show you the content related to the song, which is basically Google's version of Shazam. However, this feature is not available to everyone. Google said it would first launch the feature to "the few people in the world who use Android devices to watch YouTube".

CTOnews.com notes that this is not entirely new for Google, as the company launched humming search in Google apps and Google Assistant in 2020. Google says the YouTube version relies on the same technology, but faster than the Google version, which takes 10-15 seconds to recognize a song.

Google is also testing another YouTube feature, which packages multiple videos uploaded by the same creator "in a short period of time" into a special "channel shelf" to be displayed in users' subscription lists, which will first be available to a few people.
