Apple AR projector new patent: can be applied to Mac, support voice, gesture interspace interaction

CTOnews.com, August 30, according to a list published by the US Trademark and Patent Office (USPTO), Apple has recently obtained a patent for technology related to AR projectors, which can be used in Mac computers, lamps, televisions and other devices in the future.

According to the patent description, Apple's imagined AR projector can project an interactive area on any surface, and a variety of virtual objects can be generated by the computer. Users can directly interact with these virtual elements through gestures such as clicking and zooming.

CTOnews.com learned from the patent that Apple described the projector as having an array of light emitters and sensors, one or more cameras (e.g., visible light cameras, stereo imaging systems, infrared cameras, depth sensing cameras, etc.), one or more ultrasound sensors, and one or more radio frequency sensors (e.g. ultra wideband radio frequency sensors).

The position sensor can collect gesture input, etc., in addition, the projector is also equipped with a microphone, which can detect voice input. The projector can synthesize these input data and adjust the interactive scene according to the requirements of users.
