CDPR: currently, nearly 260 people are developing a new work on the Wizard, and Cyberpunk 2077 will not launch a second DLC.

CTOnews.com, August 31, CD Projekt Red released its financial results for the first half of 2023, revealing the Polish developer's current priorities. The new wizard series, codenamed Polaris, is becoming the company's main project, with nearly 260 developers working on it by the end of July. This is the company's largest project after Cyberpunk 2077: shadow of the past.

Cyber punk 2077: shadow of the past is an expansion that will be released in September, and CEO Adam Kicinski said that after the expansion is released, most developers will move to the "wizard" team.

With regard to Cyberpunk 2077: the Shadow of the past, this expansion has brought a lot of positive responses to the game, so will CD Projekt Red consider continuing development? Will we see another expansion? Kicinski said it was impossible because it was technical. "this decision has been made," he said. As we announced a long time ago, we will not produce a second or third expansion. This is the only expansion of the game and has nothing to do with sales or whether we are satisfied with the game or not. It's a technical decision, to be honest. This is the last time we will use Red Engine to develop games in the foreseeable future, and we will use Epic's illusory engine, which is one of the key reasons why we decided to do only one expansion. "

CTOnews.com noted that although CD Projekt Red will not produce another expansion after Cyberpunk 2077: shadow of the past, a sequel is in the pipeline, codenamed Project Orion, but it will take some time to wait because it is only in the planning stage.

Cyberpunk 2077: shadow of the past will be released on PC, Xbox Series X / S and PS5 on September 26.
