CTOnews.com, Aug. 31-Microsoft is developing a new feature that allows Xbox users to automatically upload their screenshots and video clips to the OneDrive cloud storage service. Currently, this feature is available in Xbox Insider's Alpha and Alpha Skip-Ahead test groups, and users can try it out and upload their existing screenshots and video clips to OneDrive in bulk.

CTOnews.com notes that Microsoft also provides a wizard to help users set OneDrive synchronization options, including whether to upload existing screenshots and video clips. Users can selectively upload what they want instead of uploading all of them. Microsoft reminds users that if there is a large amount of content to upload, the process may take several days and will run in the background.

When automatic upload is enabled, users' screenshots and video clips on Xbox will be saved in OneDrive's image folder and video folder, and users can view them through web pages, PC, Mac or mobile OneDrive apps.

However, Microsoft has not improved the process of making video clips on Xbox. Even if users have a fast network connection, video clips still take a long time to upload. Currently, 4K video clips cannot be automatically uploaded to OneDrive during testing, but Microsoft says it will enable this feature in the future.

Microsoft usually tests Xbox's new features a few months in advance and then pushes them to all users. Therefore, it is expected that this OneDrive upload function will be officially launched in the next few months.
