CTOnews.com, August 31, Google today issued a press release announcing the launch of AlloyDB AI services to further expand the functions of existing AlloyDB services, mainly to help developers make full use of operational data to create generative AI applications.

CTOnews.com Note: AlloyDB is a fully managed database service compatible with PostgreSQL (open source database), which can automatically perform backup, replication, patching, capacity management and other management tasks, and use adaptive algorithms and machine learning technology for PostgreSQL vacuum management, storage and memory management, data layering and analysis acceleration, making it easy for developers to focus on building applications.

The introduction of AlloyDB AI allows developers to combine the functions of large language models and real-time manipulation data to provide comprehensive support for vector embedding. AlloyDB AI uses a simple SQL function to convert data into vector embedding, and it can execute vector queries ten times faster than standard PostgreSQL.

AlloyDB AI allows users to generate and embed data with simple PostgreSQL functions. Officials emphasize that only one line of SQL syntax is needed to access the embedded model of Google, such as the embedded generation model in the database, or the last model of Vertex AI.
