August 31, according to previous reports, Apple, a big customer after mass production of TSMC's advanced process technology, has booked all the production capacity of TSMC's 3nm process this year for OEM iPhone 15 Pro series A17 bionic chips and the new 13-inch MacBook Pro and other M3 chips to be carried.

According to DigiTimes, Apple, which has booked full capacity of TSMC's 3nm process this year, has recently cut its orders, which will reduce TSMC's monthly production to 50000-60000 wafers in the fourth quarter of this year, rather than the 80000-100000 wafers previously expected.

In addition, the current monthly output of TSMC's 3nm process is expected to be about 65000 wafers, which means that if the monthly output in the fourth quarter is really 50000-60000 wafers as reported, it will be lower than the current one.

As Apple is the main customer after mass production of TSMC's advanced process process, coupled with the higher OEM price of 3nm process, Apple's reduction in orders will affect their revenue from this process, and if the monthly output in the fourth quarter is lower than that in the third quarter, it may also lead to a quarter-on-quarter decline in revenue.

In addition, DigiTimes mentioned that because Apple's orders occupy most of the capacity of TSMC's 3nm process production line, TSMC will not be able to take orders from big customers such as Qualcomm and AMD in the short term, so it is difficult to offset the impact of Apple's order cuts.
