Meguiar 1-gamma process memory is expected to be produced in Taiwan in the first half of 2025.
Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen OC_Formula for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com Sept. 4, according to Taiwan's Central News Agency, Lu Donghui, chairman of Meguiar, said that up to 65% of Meguiar's DRAM products are produced in Taiwan, and the Taiwan-Japan team will work together to develop a new generation of 1-gamma process in Taichung plant in the first half of 2025. This is the first generation of Meguiar's (EUV) process technology.
It is reported that Micron now has only EUV manufacturing plants in Taichung, and the 1-gamma process is bound to be mass produced in Taichung first, and Japanese factories will also import EUV equipment in the future.
Lu Donghui stressed that Taiwan and Japan are very important manufacturing centers for Micron. Up to 65 per cent of Micron's dynamic random access memory (DRAM) products are produced in Taiwan, and Taiwan is now starting mass production of 1-beta after Japanese factories began mass production of 1-beta process technology in October last year.
CTOnews.com learned from the report that compared with the previous generation of 1-alpha process, Meguiar's latest 1-beta process reduces power consumption by about 15%, increases bit density by more than 35%, and the capacity of each grain can reach 16Gb.
