BMW launches the world's first electric bulletproof car, i7 Protection: weighs 4900 kg and has a range of 380km

Delivery will begin in December for an undisclosed price, but it will certainly be expensive.

The i7 Protection is based on BMW's flagship i7 xDrive60 and features an innovative Protection Core design that replaces standard body parts with armor steel of the required strength, which is smaller and therefore increases interior space. The car has a VR9 protection rating and can withstand gunfire and explosions, and even defend against drone attacks and grenade fragments.

The i7 Protection weighs 4900 kg, 1500 kg heavier than the regular i7. Door glass is 3 inches thick (CTOnews.com notes: approximately 76.2 mm) and very strong. Despite this, the car can still accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 9 seconds and has a range of 380 km. The car is also equipped with an iDrive infotainment system designed specifically for it, which can control special functions such as intercom system, lighting and communication with the outside world.
