NASA Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter captured photos of the Indian Lunar ship Lander 3.

CTOnews.com, September 6 (Xinhua) after a successful soft landing near the South Pole of the moon on August 23, the Indian lunar rover released the lunar rover on the 24th and officially landed on the lunar surface, and then announced that it had completed its main mission and entered a dormant state on September 3.

NASA now released an image of the lunar lander-3 landing site on the lunar surface, about 600km from the moon's south pole, captured by its lunar survey orbiter (LRO) on August 27.

According to reports, this picture has a 42 °rotation angle because of its poor angle, and the bright halo around the aircraft is caused by the interaction between the rocket plume and the fine-grained weathering layer (soil).

Lunar ship 3 is another Indian lunar mission after Moonship 2 in 2019, which suffered a setback when its lander Vikram crashed on the lunar surface.

Relatively speaking, Lunar ship 3 successfully achieved a soft landing, making India the fourth country to land on the moon after the Soviet Union, the United States and China. Moreover, India was the first country to land in the South Pole of the moon.

It is reported that the budget for the mission is about 6.5 billion rupees (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 573 million yuan), which is even lower than the budget of the movie Adiprushi.
