Saudi Arabia will host the 2024 World E-Sports Championships

CTOnews.com Sept. 6, the International E-Sports Federation (International Esports Federation) announced that the 16th World e-Sports Championships in 2024 will be hosted by Saudi Arabia, the host city has not yet been announced.

It is worth mentioning that Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, hosted the Gamers8 Electronic Sports Festival this year, including the "Dota 2" tournament, the 2023 Riyadh Masters, with a prize pool of US $15 million (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 109 million yuan).

The 2023 World E-Sports Championships include "Iron fist 7", "live football", "DOTA2", "CS:GO" (including the open group and women's group) and "endless showdown" and "PUBG mobile games".

During this year's WCG tournament, the peak audience of the CS:GO Open reached 13600, the Women's Championship reached 15300, the peak audience of "Dota 2" reached 21800, while the peak audience of "endless showdown" reached 700000.

The World E-Sports Championship is a global event founded in 2000, with its host city changed every year since 2005, held in Chengdu, China in 2009, in Kunshan in 2012, in Xi'an in 2019, and in Shanghai and Seoul, South Korea in 2020. Li Xiaofeng of China won the "Warcraft" championship twice in 2005 Singapore and 2006 Monza, known as the "Emperor" and was inducted into the WCG Hall of Fame.
