Steam preview October update: refine the game support handle type
CTOnews.com Sept. 6, Steam announced today that it will update Steam's online store and desktop client in October to further subdivide the game handles so that players know exactly which games they want to play and which ones to support.
CTOnews.com Note: there are only simple "fully supported controllers" or "partially supported controllers" in the current game page, such as Starry Sky, which is just launched today, and its page is displayed as "partially supported controllers".
After this update, the game page will distinguish between Xbox handles, DUALSHOCK (PS4) and DualSense (PS5) handles, and the update will include the following:
The area supported by the controller is displayed on the store page to illustrate the level of support of the PlayStation controller.
Some browsing pages make it easier for players to find new games that well support their controller devices.
Steam desktop client to indicate that a game in the library supports the PlayStation controller.
Steam desktop client, which shows more clearly that the game needs a controller to play.
