According to the news from CTOnews.com on September 6, CTOnews.com learned from the passenger Association that preliminary statistics show that from August 1 to 31, retail sales in the passenger car market were 1.902 million, up 2% from the same period last year and 7% from the previous year; retail sales totaled 13.199 million vehicles so far this year, up 2% from the same period last year; national passenger car manufacturers wholesale 2.223 million vehicles, up 6% from the same period last year, up 8% from the previous year; and 15.354 million vehicles were sold so far this year, up 6% from the same period last year.

According to preliminary statistics, from August 1 to 31, retail sales in the new energy vehicle market were 698000, up 32% from the same period last year and 9% from the previous year. Since the beginning of this year, retail sales have totaled 4.424 million, up 36% from the same period last year. On August 1-31, passenger car manufacturers nationwide sold 805000 new energy vehicles, up 28% from the same period last year and 9% from the previous year. The total number of wholesale vehicles so far this year was 5.086 million, up 39% from the same period last year.

The trend of new energy vehicles in the world is relatively stable in 2023. From January to July this year, 7.22 million new energy vehicles were sold, of which 220000 new energy commercial vehicles were sold. Affected by the high base and the gradual withdrawal of national subsidy policies, the trend of new energy passenger vehicles in the world is relatively stable in 2023, reaching 7 million from January to July, an increase of 45 per cent over the same period last year. The number of vehicles reached 1.12 million in July, up 35 per cent from a year earlier.

Commercial vehicles account for only 3% of the world's new energy vehicles, with new energy passenger vehicles as the main body. From January to July of 2023, China's new energy passenger vehicles accounted for 61% of the world's new energy, while China's share of 65.6% was stronger in July. China's export of new energy vehicles is super strong in 2023, which is also the double growth of China's strong industrial chain, forming a strong domestic market and exports.
