CTOnews.com Sept. 6, Microsoft announced that it will hold a special event on October 3 to show the public the "AI plan" of its cloud storage service OneDrive.

The event, called "the Future of File Management", will be broadcast live via Microsoft Teams and appears to include a redesigned OneDrive interface and a new AI-driven search and sharing function. Microsoft said: "the Jeff Teper and OneDrive product teams will showcase the next generation of file management in Microsoft 365 to get a glimpse of our AI plan, which includes new search, sharing and information query capabilities for all files in OneDrive."

It is worth mentioning that Microsoft will also hold a "special event" in New York City on September 21, where there are rumors that Microsoft will launch three new Surface devices and provide AI improvements to Microsoft 365, Windows, Bing, etc. Microsoft may also give a brief introduction to the changes in OneDrive, and then introduce it in more depth in the live broadcast in October.

CTOnews.com notes that OneDrive hasn't had a major update in years, so any AI feature has the potential to greatly improve its ability to search for photos and documents. Microsoft has also been pushing for the addition of Copilot assistants to its various applications and services, so there may be a Copilot designed specifically for OneDrive.
