CTOnews.com, Sept. 7 (Xinhua)-- Troy Hunt, a cyber security expert, recently tweeted on X (Twitter) that Dutch chipmaker NXP Semiconductors Semiconductor (NXP) was hit by a cyber attack, resulting in the disclosure of user information.

NXP has now begun sending emails to affected users, and the CTOnews.com translation reads as follows: "We found that since July 14, 2023, the system connected to the online portal NXP. Com has been hacked and customer information, including email addresses and contact numbers, has been disclosed."

NXP said existing investigations showed that the leaked data were not used for fraudulent purposes, and officials did not disclose how many users were affected, but pointed out that the following information could be leaked:
