CTOnews.com Sept. 8 news, TSMC announced today that the August camp collected about NT $188.69 billion (CTOnews.com Note: currently about 43.21 billion yuan), an increase of 6.2% month-on-month, down 13.5% from a year earlier.

From January to August 2023, TSMC's revenue totaled NT $1.35578 trillion (currently about NT $310.474 billion), down 5.2 per cent from the same period in 2022.

This decline has something to do with weak chip shipments this year. According to data recently released by TrendForce Jibang Consulting, TSMC's revenue in the second quarter is about $15.666 billion (currently about 113.892 billion yuan), a month-on-month reduction of 6.4% and a market share of 56.4%.

▲ Touyuan TrendForce Jibang Consulting TrendForce said that demand in the second half of the peak season is weaker than in previous years, but high-priced main chips such as AP, modem and surrounding IC orders in the third quarter are expected to support the capacity utilization performance of Apple's supply chain partners, coupled with a small number of HPC AI chips plus order effect to promote high-priced process orders. TrendForce Jibang Consulting expects that in the third quarter, the output value of the top ten wafers in the world is expected to rebound from the trough, followed by slow growth.
