CTOnews.com, September 11 (Xinhua)-- Apple will hold a new product launch on September 13, when it will launch products such as iPhone 15 and Apple Watch Series 9. According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple will gradually abandon the leather material and use a new fabric material "FineWoven" to make the protective case of the iPhone 15 and the watch band of the Apple Watch, a move that could mark the end of Apple's partnership with luxury brand Herm è s.

Herm è s is a long-time partner of Apple, providing Apple Watch with high-end leather straps and custom dial. However, shortly after Mark Gurman revealed that Apple would "start phasing out leather straps on the Apple Watch", Herm è s removed all Apple Watch-related products from its website, including the "Apple Watch Herm è s" section under the "Jewelry and watches" category.

For now, Apple still retains the Herm è s section on its website and can still buy Apple Watch Herm è s, but there are very few models left. Apple also offers discounts of up to 90 per cent to employees to clear Apple Watch Herm è s from inventory.

CTOnews.com notes that although Herm è s mainly provides leather straps for Apple Watch, there is also a "Casaque Single Tour" strap made of nylon fabric (see image below).

Herm è s' removal of all Apple Watch content from its website could mean that Apple's partnership with Herm è s is coming to an end.

Of course, there is another possibility that Herm è s removes all Apple Watch content from its website in advance in order to launch a new, non-leather luxury watch band and a new Apple Watch Herm è s when Apple Watch Series 9 is released. In fact, Herm è s did a similar thing last year before the release of Apple Watch Series 8 and Ultra. Mark Gurman believes that Apple's abandonment of leather will not affect its relationship with Herm è s, and it is possible that Herm è s can continue to use the material even if Apple gives up leather.

Meanwhile, Herm è s still sells accessories for products such as AirTag, AirPods and iPhone 12 on its website.
