Microsoft enhances Defender to help administrators control AMD Zenbleed remote execution vulnerabilities affecting devices

CTOnews.com Sept. 12, Microsoft today issued a press release for IT administrators and system administrators to introduce new content called "Hardware and Firmware Assessment" (hardware and firmware evaluation) in the Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management panel.

Microsoft said it introduced the update to help IT administrators determine whether their devices are affected by AMD Zenbleed remote execution vulnerabilities. In an official diagram, Microsoft said the AMD Carrizo A10-8700p APU was not affected by the vulnerability.

The hardware and firmware evaluation option in Microsoft Defender Vulnerability Management identifies a list of known hardware and firmware within the organization, helping administrators identify which devices are affected by Zenbleed vulnerabilities.
