The company announced that starting next week, employees with home addresses within 50 miles of IBM will be on duty for at least three days a week.

Kareem Yusuf, senior vice president of product management, and Dinesh Nirmal, senior vice president of product management at IBM Software, released a full letter last week, conveying the "bad news".

CTOnews.com translated the full letter as follows: "if we want to maintain the flexibility of remote and office work, we must better manage employee attendance," Yusuf and Nirmal added, adding that the order to return to the office complies with local laws and regulations.

According to the staff letter, 1/4 of IBM Software's employees are on duty for more than three days a week, and it is planned to reach 3/4 in October.
