CTOnews.com Sept. 13, Apple today unveiled four new models of the iPhone 15 series, namely the iPhone 15, the iPhone 15 Plus, the iPhone 15 Pro and the iPhone 15 Pro Max. These new models are equipped with USB-C interface and smart island, while the Pro version has more features, such as the A17 Pro chip, lightweight titanium frame, customizable Action keys, 5x optical zoom for Pro Max, Wi-Fi 6e support, 8GB memory, etc.

According to Apple's official website, only the US version of the iPhone 15 series supports the millimeter wave 5G band. CTOnews.com notes that this has been the case since the launch of the iPhone 12 series in 2020.

Millimeter wave is a 5G frequency that can provide ultra-high speed over short distances and is suitable for densely populated urban areas. By contrast, the sub-6GHz 5G is usually slower than millimeter waves, but the signal travels farther and is more suitable for suburban and rural areas. With the exception of the United States, all iPhone 15 series support sub-6GHz 's 5G. At present, among the countries that have launched 5G, sub-6GHz networks are still more common than millimeter wave networks, which have been deployed in Australia, China, Japan and Singapore.

Pre-orders for the iPhone 15 series will begin this Friday and will go on sale on September 22.
