iOS 17 introduces a new Apple ID proximity sign-in feature, which allows users to bring their existing logged-in and trusted iPhone or iPad close to their new device and automatically sign in by scanning the "particle cloud" on the screen for pairing. It's not yet known if this feature requires a system update or just an update to Apple's backend servers.
