CTOnews.com, September 14 (Xinhua)-- NASA Director Bill Nelson (Bill Nelson) said on Thursday (September 14) that an independent research team set up by the agency investigated unidentified flying objects (UFO) or unidentified anomalies (UAP), but found no evidence of their extraterrestrial origin.

According to CTOnews.com, the group was set up last year, and its report is now available on the NASA website. the group is composed of experts from physics, astrobiology and other scientific fields.

Nelson says that doesn't mean the agency denies the possibility of life elsewhere in the universe. He even said that he personally believed in extraterrestrial life in a universe with "billions of galaxies".

Although NASA says there is no extraterrestrial explanation for the UAP, the agency is appointing new research directors to study more of the UAP, and the team urges the United States to step up efforts to investigate the phenomenon more often known as UFO.

NASA said the new UAP research director would be responsible for "pooling communication, resources and data analysis capabilities and building a robust database to assess future UAP". The agency has not yet disclosed who will be appointed head of UAP research.

NASA said that the "UAP" investigation is like looking for a needle in a haystack, and that the lack of high-quality data partly leads to the mystery, and many eyewitness accounts are not detailed or consistent.
