In addition to the "HEIF Max" option for shooting 4800-megapixel HEIF photos, the iPhone 15 series also introduces "JPEG Max" mode, which can shoot 4800-megapixel JPEG images, which can further improve compatibility. In addition, the 4800-megapixel ProRaw mode is now called "ProRaw Max".

It is also worth noting that not all camera modes support a full 4800 megapixels, and night view mode, flash shooting, macro mode and other modes are still limited to 1200 megapixels. This limitation occurs because these modes require faster shutter speeds, which cannot be provided by higher resolution sensors.

Apple iPhone 14 Pro Max currently supports three photo options:

Regular 1200 megapixels, which can be saved in JPEG or HEIF format

1200 megapixel photos in ProRAW format

4800 megapixel photos in ProRAW format
