Sources say Amazon plans to hire Panos Panay to take charge of products such as Alexa and Echo

CTOnews.com, Sept. 19 (Xinhua)-- according to Bloomberg, Amazon is hiring 20-year-old Microsoft veteran Panos Panay to replace retiring executive Dave Dave Limp as Amazon's device director, responsible for promoting products such as Alexa voice assistant and Echo smart speakers.

CTOnews.com translated Mark Gurman's tweet as follows: "Amazon plans to hold an Alexa and equipment conference at its headquarters in Virginia on Wednesday, and the departure of Microsoft Panos Panay means that Amazon will announce the arrival of the heavyweight at the event. This is undoubtedly great news for the struggling group business."

Panay joined Microsoft in 2004 as a team project manager. After leading the Surface product line, Panes Panay became Microsoft's product director in 2018, responsible for the development of Windows 11. In 2021, Panay was promoted to executive vice president of Microsoft, becoming a member of the top leadership team that provided advice directly to Satya Nadella, Microsoft's chief executive.
