CTOnews.com, September 20, at the Intel ON Technology Innovation Summit, Intel announced that the Core Ultra 1-generation mobile processor codenamed Meteor Lake will be available on December 14.

According to reports, the Intel Core Ultra processor codenamed Meteor Lake is a turning point in the Intel client processor roadmap: this processor uses the client core design of Foveros packaging technology for the first time. In addition to the significant improvements in the performance and power consumption ratio of NPU and Intel 4 process nodes, the processor also brings standalone graphics card-level performance by integrating Intel sharp graphics cards.

IT House noted that Intel has not yet released specific models and parameters of Intel Core Ultra processors.

Acer showed off Acer Swift laptops with Core Ultra processors. In addition, Intel previewed the next generation of Intel Xeon processors, which will be released on December 14. Sierra Forest, an energy efficient core (E-core) processor with high energy efficiency, will be available in the first half of 2024. Compared with the fourth-generation Xeon, the 288-core processor is expected to increase rack density by 2.5 times and performance per watt by 2.4 times. Following the release of Sierra Forest is the high-performance performance core (P-core) processor Granite Rapids, which is expected to increase AI performance by two to three times compared with the fourth-generation Xeon. Looking forward to 2025, the next generation of most energy-efficient core processors codenamed Clearwater Forest will be based on Intel 18A process nodes.
