When enabled, Microsoft introduced touch mode in Edge Dev 117, which was released in August this year. Turn on the "appearance" option in the settings, and you can see the "touch" area on the right. After enabling touch mode, Edge browsers will increase the size of browser elements such as buttons and tabs to optimize the touch experience.

CTOnews.com inquired about social platforms such as the Reddit community and X (Twitter) and found that the problem was traced back to recently released updates that enabled "touch mode" by default after installation. However, the impact of this problem is not significant, and users can adjust it in the settings interface.

Currently, there are three options for touch mode, which are described as follows:

Automatic (default): touch mode will automatically turn on when Microsoft Edge recognizes that you are using the device as a tablet.

On: touch mode will always be on.

Off: touch mode will always be turned off.
