Disclosure documents show that Microsoft is considering switching to Arm CPU for the next generation of Xbox hosts
CTOnews.com, September 20, according to documents recently disclosed by the US court, exposed the game console code-named "Brooklin" and the game controller code-named "Ellewood". In addition, in the leaked documents, Microsoft originally planned to transition to Arm CPU.
Microsoft's current Xbox Series X game console GPU is partly based on AMD's RDNA 2 architecture, while CPU is partly based on Zen 2 architecture.
According to disclosed documents, Microsoft is considering redesigning CPU and GPU, of which CPU is partly based on ARM64 vs x64 (Zen6) architecture.
It's just that Zen6 will not come in the near future. The document mentions the design of large and small cores, and GPU works with AMD to develop GPU based on Navi5.
CTOnews.com previously reported that the game console codenamed "Brooklin" uses a cylindrical design and will not have a CD-ROM drive. Microsoft's internal confidential documents show that the console has the highest 2TB storage space, USB-C interface power, and a "brand new, more immersive game console."
