CTOnews.com Sept. 21, Sensor Tower announced the number of global mobile game downloads TOP10 in August 2023. In terms of downloads, Metro Parkour rose to second, Roblox fell to fourth, and PUBG Mobile dropped to ninth.

CTOnews.com learned from the data that Garena "Free Fire" (including "Free Fire MAX") topped the global mobile game download list in August with nearly 2200 downloads, while India was the game's largest market, contributing 31.4% of downloads, followed by Vietnam and Brazil, accounting for 8.9% and 8.6%, respectively.

In early August, the game launched new content, including Zombie Hunt, Bermuda map adjustment and the introduction of new characters.

On August 18, the game released themed props through the Rampage: Finale event. These updates not only maintain the strong interest of players, but also consolidate their position at the top of the download list.

Subway parkour (Subway Surfers) returned to No. 2 with nearly 1900 million downloads. India is the game's largest market, contributing 19.4% of downloads, while Brazil ranks second with 9.4% of downloads and the United States, No. 3, accounts for 6.7%.

In August, the game released two new versions and introduced new maps, characters, skins and props. These continuous content updates help boost players' interest and lead to a surge in downloads.

The other three games in the top five are Gametion "Ludo King", "Roblox" and Dream Games "Royal Match".

In August 2023, the number of downloads of global mobile games on App Store and Google Play was 4.54 billion, down nearly 2 per cent from a year earlier. The Indian market ranks first with 778 million downloads, accounting for 17.1% of the world's total downloads. The Brazilian market ranked second with 8.7% of downloads, followed by the United States with 7.9%.

On August 18, Tencent's "Alloy warhead: awakening" (Metal Slug: Awakening) held a public testing ceremony, launching a new role, the strongest challenge of the boxing champion 97, and other activities. As a global classic IP, the game landed in overseas markets on August 22 and attracted wide attention, successfully entering the eighth place in the list of download growth.
