Ubuntu 23.10 Beta Image Open download

CTOnews.com Sept. 23, Canonical released Ubuntu 23.10 Beta images today, as well as Edubuntu, Kubuntu, Lubuntu, Ubuntu Budgie, Ubuntu Cinnamon, Ubuntu Kylin, Ubuntu MATE, Ubuntu Studio, Ubuntu Unity and Xubuntu versions.

Ubuntu 23.10 is code-named "Mantic Minotaur", where "Mantic" comes from the Greek mantikos and mantis, related to divination or prophecy, and translates to the equivalent of "prophet". Among them Minotoros "Minotaur" is a famous half-man and half-ox monster in Greek mythology.

Ubuntu Desktop uses a Flutter-based Subiquity installer that supports Snap, but still retains the traditional installer.

Ubuntu 23.10 Beta uses the Linux Kernel 6.5 kernel CTOnews.com previously reported that the new version has added support for the ZFS file system.

In addition, Canonical introduces initial support for TPM-based full-disk encryption to take advantage of the system's trusted platform module (TPM), but the disadvantage is that this function depends on Snap, including the kernel and GRUB boot loader.

Ubuntu 23.10 will be supported for 9 months until July 2024. If you need long-term support, we recommend that you use Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.
