CTOnews.com, Sept. 27 (Xinhua) Honda will show off three concept cars at next month's Tokyo Motor Show (Japan Mobility Show), one of which may be the electric successor to the Honda NSX, which announced last year that the NSX will return as one of two future electric sports cars.

The concept car, called Specialty Sports Concept, shows off a future electric sports car that will provide "pure driving fun" and "beyond time limits, even in the age of electrification and self-driving technology". This suggests that Honda will seek to launch a car that focuses on pure driving performance rather than a range of driving aids, details of which will be announced at the October 25 show.

As part of Honda's £31 billion electrification strategy, Honda has pledged to produce more than 2 million electric vehicles by 2030, while introducing solid-state battery technology.

The other two concept cars are a small electric car called the Sustainia-C and a two-seat mini electric car called the CI-MEV. Sustainia-C appears to have borrowed design elements from the Honda E, an electric compact sedan, to show that cars can become sustainable and made of recycled acrylic resin, which Honda says can be recycled again.

The mini two-seater CI-MEV concept car is a low-cost car equipped with self-driving technology and Honda's Cooperative Intelligence artificial intelligence assistant.

According to CTOnews.com, Honda will also display other concept products at the show, such as the Pocket Concept (a receptive electric bicycle), the SC e: Concept (an electric motorcycle with replaceable batteries), the eVTOL (a helicopter-aircraft hybrid) and the Honda Autonomous work vehicle (Honda Autonomous Work Vehicle).
