CTOnews.com, September 29 (Xinhua)-- Google has released a major update to ChromeOS 117 to deeply integrate Material You designs, improve multitasking capabilities, enhance video conferencing, and so on.

The most obvious change in ChromeOS 117 is the introduction of a new Material You design, which appeared in Android 12 in 2021 and was further refined in Android 13.

ChromeOS 117 has made new adjustments to Quick setup, shelf (ChromeOS taskbar), window title bar, etc., to make the overall look softer and more comfortable according to the wallpaper and theme color chosen by the user.

CTOnews.com also learned from the report that ChromeOS 117 also introduced a similar multi-tasking UI, which appears when you hover your mouse over the maximize button in the upper right corner of any window: the resulting pop-up window allows you to choose four layouts: peer split (Split), primary and secondary split (Partial), full screen (Full) and floating (Float).

ChromeOS 117 also adds adaptive charging to the supported Chromebook, sees more clipboard by typing LAUNCHER + V, adds GIF animations to the emoji panel, and so on.
