CTOnews.com learned from officials that in addition to the ID.3, which will be mass produced in 2023, the Wolfsburg plant will also produce a second electric model. Starting from 2026, a large number of Class A pure electric SUV plans to go offline, and will also produce the best-selling golf and the next generation Tiguan. Starting from 2025, Tiguan Allspace's successor models will also be produced in the main plant.

In the process of plant allocation planning, Volkswagen decided to abandon the construction of an additional plant in Valmenau, Wolfsburg. On the contrary, the new electric models based on the SSP architecture (extensible system platform), which will be launched at the end of this century, will be integrated into the existing modern structure of the main factory, and a large number of golf models will be electrified on the basis of SSP.

As things stand, the Trinity vehicle project originally planned for Wolfsburg will be moved to the Zwickau plant. In addition to producing fuel models such as the Arteon and T-Roc convertibles, the Oswebruck plant plans to continue to work with Porsche.
