CTOnews.com, Oct. 3 (Xinhua) famous American actor Tom Hanks (Tom Hanks) recently posted a picture on Instagram, saying that without his consent, the AI version of his portrait has been used in an online advertisement for dental programs.

Tom Hanks told his 9.6 million fans that he wasn't the one in the video and that he had nothing to do with the company or its promotional video. He confirmed that the images circulated were fakes created using AI technology without his own permission.

CTOnews.com found that Tom Hanks had previously talked about the rise of AI in the entertainment industry and discussed the potential impact of these new technologies. Speaking on the Adam Buxton podcast in May, Hanks expressed concern about the moral and legal challenges posed by AI, especially in continuing to perform after death.

"I may be hit by a bus tomorrow, that's all, but the show can go on," he said. "apart from the self-identification of AI and deep counterfeiting, there is nothing to tell you that this is not me. This is certainly an artistic challenge as well as a legal challenge."
