CTOnews.com, Oct. 4, Sony announced last month that it would offer free games to new PS5 users in the United States. Existing users have found that Sony has quietly updated the terms of the event to make it clear that only invited users can enjoy the discount.

According to the terms, this offer is "only applicable in the United States to eligible PS5 account holders who have reached the age of 18 and have purchased and activated a new PS5 host before 23:59 PST on October 20, 2023".

Now, Sony has added the words "invitation only" at the top of the clause. In other words, only players who are officially invited can receive the game for free, and there is no such word on the terms page when the official announced the event.
