Thanks to CTOnews.com netizen OC_Formula for the clue delivery! CTOnews.com news on October 5, in response to the rumor that "Samsung will end the cooperation with AMD on mobile GPU", blogger @ Tech_Reve believes that the news is not accurate and gives his own opinion.

Samsung is indeed developing its own GPU, but it's more like a modified version of AMD GPU, he said. At Samsung's LSI Technology Day this month, Martin Ashton, vice president of AMD, is expected to attend as a guest and announce detailed information about the two sides' cooperation in graphics semiconductor technology. Samsung will continue to use AMD GPU in the future.

According to the blogger @ Connor, the upcoming Exynos 2400 may be Samsung's last SoC with AMD GPU, and Samsung hopes to develop its own customized solution. "there are signs that the GPU cooperation between Samsung and AMD is coming to an end, and Samsung plans to get rid of the constraints of other vendors by developing custom GPU in 2025," the blogger said.

CTOnews.com learned that Samsung and AMD reached a partnership on mobile GPU in 2021, and Exynos 2200 became the brand's first SoC chip with AMD RDNA architecture GPU, inheriting advanced graphics features such as hardware-accelerated ray tracing (RT) and variable rate shading (VRS) that were previously available only on PC, laptops and game consoles. However, in practical application, the performance of this SoC chip does not meet expectations.
