CTOnews.com October 6, Microsoft recently launched a new Microsoft Teams application for users of Windows and macOS platforms.

The new version of Microsoft Teams for Windows and macOS abandons the resource-intensive Electron framework to use Microsoft's WebView2 technology, which can further accelerate application performance and improve application productivity.

CTOnews.com previously reported that the new version of Teams promises to install three times faster, start up twice as fast, and switch between chat and channels 1.7 times faster. Joining the meeting should also be twice as fast; memory footprint should be reduced by 50%, and disk space by 70%.

Anupam Pattnaik, head of Microsoft products, said:

The new Teams application has almost all the features of the classic version, including custom line of business applications, third-party applications, group discussion rooms, 7x7 video, call queues, PSTN calls, situational search in chat and channels, cross-release channel conversations, and so on.
